Abandoned Thoughts #3, 2016
Digital Prints Every photograph tells a story, but what of the abandoned charity shop finds? Who were these people, why have they been forgotten and discarded, and how do we relate to them? Each found photograph evokes a certain sadness; feelings and thoughts of nostalgic despair which the artist has overlaid to encourage an unseen narrative. Bleaching causes a cleansing but in photography is causes destruction; a removal of identity, more towards forgetting. They become less personal to their previous owners and more relatable by all. |
